Department of art and craft play a very significant role in MDIC as an institution that emphasizes moral teachings and etiquette more than textbook knowledge. The students practice art and craft as a compulsory subject up to class six. Also, in O-level and A-level students can take this as an optional subject. In MDIC students can learn calligraphy in Bangla, Arabic and English language as well, and it’s specially designed for the students of Manarat comprehensively. With these as extra-curricular activities, they also learn how to paint on fabric, especially on T-shirt with fabric color, also painting on canvas with acrylic color. Different beautiful craftworks are created without discarding things to recycle them again like: pen holder with tissue paper holder, flowers and vase with plastic bottles, flowers with shopping bags and old clothes, painting with using buttons, craft work with disposable plate and glass etc. Craftwork with thermocol balls, photo frame with different paper boxes, collage paintings with different color papers and old newspapers, fabrics, pieces of cotton etc. Learning poster writing using beautiful handwriting techniques, learning the art and craft don’t just foster the creative development of a child, but also assist in advancing and refining his or her core skills, which goes towards boosting academic achievement as well.
