Arabic & Islamic Studies

Manarat is a centre of moral excellence and the department of Arabic and Islamic Studies is the main focus of this centre. The department is meant for giving essential Islamic teachings, imparting moral values and teaching basic Arabic to the students. It comprises mainly three subjects: Islamic studies, Arabic and Surah-Salah. The students study Islamic studies from class-1 to 8 compulsorily. There is also O level Islamic Studies (2068) as an optional subject for the students of classes-9 & 10. As for Arabic, the students study this subject compulsory from nursery to class-6. And under the subject Surah and Salah, they learn surahs, practical wudu and salah etc. from class-1 to 6. The curriculums, syllabuses, and books of these subjects are rich, well-designed and comprehensive. These help the students to know about all the important teachings of Islam like iman, aqidah, akhlaq, ibadah, muamalah, taharah, najasah and morality etc and give them a comprehensive idea of the Islamic way of life. They also learn different acts of ibadah and muamalah practically like, wudu, salah, salam etc. The subject Arabic helps the students to have a direct access to the language of the Quran and the hadith. The O level, result of most of the students taking Islamic studies (earlier it was Islamiyat) is good. Some of them achieved country highest. In addition to academic subjects, the department also arranges cultural programme on different occasions in order to develop the potentialities of the students and make them able to take part in different competitions. For teaching these subjects and holding different programmes, the department has about 22 highly qualified, committed, and experienced teachers. They sincerely help the students to learn about Islam and practice its teachings in their lives. Thus the department is trying to make the students good Muslims as well as good citizens of the country.
