Manarat Association of Debaters (MAD) is the most prestigious club in Manarat and one of the premier debating clubs in the Bangladesh Debate Circuit. Our illustrious club was one of the pioneers of English Debating in the country and our debaters have consistently dominated local and international tournaments with their sharp wit and beautiful rhetoric. The club has produced veritable legends such as Sohara Mehroze Sachi, a research graduate from Yale University and Tonima Tasnim Ananna, a trailblazing scientist who worked at NASA and CERN. Our golden age produced many debating powerhouses like Sumaiya Anjum Kashfi, Abu Yousuf Md. Abdullah and Labib Rahman who have represented Bangladesh at the World Schools Debating Championship – essentially, the world cup of school debating. Now, this golden legacy is upheld by our fierce new generation of debaters. Led by Raiyan Husain, Samin Rahman, and Seeam Marjan, this team has reached the semi-finals of the Asian Schools Debating Championship in Thailand with Raiyan and Seeam achieving the 5th and 9th best speaker spots respectively. Seeam Marjan, Hasibul Kadir, and Subaita Arwaa have won multiple local and international tournaments such as AIDF Fest 2020, NDDC Nationals 2019, and GH Interschools Novice Championship 2018. To top it off, Seeam, Hasibul, and Arwaa secured spots in the National Camp for Team Bangladesh with Seeam and Arwaa ranking in the top ten debaters in the country. To nurture and nourish the limitless potential of future debaters, MAD has its own debate room equipped with facilities to foster critical thinking and engaging debates. With the continuous support of respected Principal Brig. Gen. (Retd) Mehdi Hassan Pramanik, psc and relentless effort of moderator Rebecca Yasmeen, MAD is ready to turn anyone into a champion.
